Delta Airlines travelers arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the hotel.  This is a good day to acclimate and recover from the long flight.

United Airlines travelers will depart the United States on your transatlantic flight to Johannesburg.

18 February

Group 1 – Delta Airlines

After breakfast at the hotel, relax, unwind, and freshen up. Later this morning, we will depart for Lesedi Cultural Village for a traditional cultural experience. At Lesedi Cultural Village, you will be welcomed in the real warm African style. This renowned village is in the heart of the African bushveld amidst the rocky hills within the Cradle of Humankind, a World Heritage Site. You’ll discover the fascinating cultures and traditions of the people of Africa. Visit five traditional homesteads inhabited by Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi, Basotho, and Ndebele tribes who live according to the tribal folklore and traditions of their ancestors. “Our culture is the light of our nation – whoever walks here amongst our cultures at Lesedi can also see the light.” 

Group 2 – United Airlines will arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the hotel.

Both groups will come together for a private Michael Baisden Travel Club meet and greet.

19 February

After breakfast at the hotel, meet in the lobby for departure to Soweto.

On this tour, we drive past contrasting settlements while being told the history. Drive on Vilakazi Street, the most famous street in the whole world, which used to be home to two NOBEL Peace Prize Winners. Visit the home of Nelson Mandela, which is now a museum. Visit the site of the 1976 student uprising, The Hector Peterson Museum and Memorial. Sit for a sumptuous lunch at a local restaurant.

20 February

After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Pilanesberg National Park and Sun City. We’ll start the afternoon with an afternoon game drive.

We’ll unite for a boma in true South African tradition this evening.

21 February

Rise with the sun for an early morning game drive. After our sunrise game drive, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast and a free day to explore the area on your own. This afternoon, we set out on another game drive to see more of South Africa’s wildlife.

This evening, enjoy Sun City your way!

22 February

After breakfast, we’ll pack up and hit the road to the OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg and our flight to Cape Town.

Upon arrival in Capetown, we’ll transfer to the hotel to check in and freshen up.

This evening we’ll go for a taste of Africa dinner at Gold Restaurant

23 February

After breakfast at the hotel, depart on a Full day Cape Peninsula Tour, including | Chapmans Peak Drive | Cape Point | Boulders Penguin Colony in Simonstown  

We’ll stop for lunch during our tour.

After breakfast, depart for the Robben Island Ferry terminal and a full tour of Robben Island and the former prison that housed Nelson Mandela and other fighters against Apartheid.

This afternoon we’ll return to the Waterfront. Time for shopping and lunch at the famous V&A Waterfront on your own or Return to the hotel.

After breakfast, depart to Table Mountain and then to the wine country of Stellenbosch for a bit of wine tasting and bites. 

We’ll return to the hotel, and Group 1 (Delta Airlines) will collect their luggage and head to the airport for your flight home.

A name change can be requested, cannot be guaranteed, and additional fees will apply. All changes are subject to availability and rate differences and are not guaranteed.

Cancellation:

• $1500 per person is non-refundable.
• In addition to the non-refundable deposit, 25% of the package price is non-refundable if canceled from October 10 to December 15, 2023.
• 75% of the package price is non-refundable if canceled from December 16, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
• 100% of the package price is non-refundable if canceled on or after January 8, 2024.
• We must receive your cancellation notice in writing by email, fax, or overnight courier, and your cancellation date will be the date we receive your notice.
• Your decision not to participate on the Tour due to State Department warnings, fear of travel, or the like will be deemed a cancellation. If a flight or another delay for any reason prevents you from joining the Tour on the Tour start date, you will be considered a no-show, and we cannot provide a full or partial refund or credit toward a future Tour, but you may join the Tour late if you wish.
