Day 01/May 27, 2024/Arrival in Tokyo
Today, we’ll arrive at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport. After clearing immigration and customs entry formalities, you will be welcomed by your local guide in the Arrivals Hall for your transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Tonight, join your fellow group members for a welcome dinner.


Day 02/May 28, 2024/Tokyo Exploration
Today, we explore Tokyo, Japan’s dynamic capital, where tradition meets modernity. We’ll begin our day at the Imperial Palace East Garden and Nijubashi, offering picturesque views of Tokyo’s iconic bridge. From there, we’ll head to the lively Tsukiji Outer Market, known for its fresh seafood and local delicacies. It’s time for lunch, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample an authentic ‘Chanko Nabe’ meal. This hearty hotpot dish, accompanied by rice, miso, salad, and more, is traditionally consumed by sumo wrestlers to help them gain weight and strength. After lunch, our next stop is the historic Sensoji Temple, followed by a leisurely stroll along the bustling Nakamise shopping street. We’ll end our day at the famous Akihabara Electric Town, a paradise for anime and manga enthusiasts.

Day 03/May 29, 2024/Tokyo Exploration
Today begins with a hearty breakfast at your hotel, setting the stage for a day filled with captivating experiences in Tokyo. In the morning, we kick off our day at teamLab Planets Tokyo, an immersive showcase of digital art installations that appeal to all the senses. Lights, sounds, and various materials combine to create an enchanting experience that will leave you spellbound. Our next stop takes us to the serene Meiji Shrine, a beautiful tribute to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, providing a peaceful contrast to the digital art experience. After lunch, we venture into the vibrant world of Harajuku, Tokyo’s fashion district. Takeshita Street and Omotesando beckon with their trendy stores, offering the perfect opportunity for shopping and exploration. Continuing our day, we head to Shibuya, where the bustling Shibuya “Scramble Crossing” awaits. This iconic location sees hundreds of people crossing the street in perfect harmony. Here, you’ll also have the chance to pay your respects to the loyal dog Hachiko, whose statue is a beloved meeting spot and a feature in various anime.

Day 04/May 30, 2024/Tokyo to Mt. Fuji and Hakone
Today, we leave Tokyo and begin our journey towards the iconic Mt. Fuji and Hakone’s tranquil hot spring retreat. As we traverse the scenic route, the landscape transforms from dense vegetation to lowlands, and the ever-shifting clouds add a touch of drama to our surroundings. We’ll stop at the Mt. Fuji 5th station (subject to weather conditions), offering a splendid opportunity to admire this world-famous peak. Our journey continues to Hakone, one of Japan’s most renowned hot-spring resorts, where you can indulge in relaxation and natural beauty. After lunch, we set sail on a serene cruise across Lake Ashi, with the majestic presence of Mt. Fuji in the backdrop on clear days, creating a postcard-worthy memory. Weather permitting, we embark on an exhilarating 20-minute ropeway ride, providing a unique perspective of the dramatic volcanic landscapes and the billowing steam from Sulphur volcanic vents.

Day 05/May 31, 2024/Hakone to Kyoto
Begin your day with a breakfast, savoring the amenities of your resort during some free time. Following lunch, we’ll board a high-speed train destined for Kyoto, a city renowned for its deep historical roots and recognized as Japan’s cultural and artistic nucleus. Kyoto unfolds a tapestry of treasures, boasting over 1,600 temples, numerous shrines, meticulously designed gardens, and grand historic architecture. Our day concludes with an immersion into the enchanting Gion Geisha District. Wander along stone-paved streets adorned with exclusive ochaya and traditional teahouses where Geisha entertain guests, offering a captivating glimpse into Japan’s rich cultural heritage.

Day 06/Jun 01, 2024/Kyoto Exploration
After a delightful breakfast, we set out to explore the enchanting city of Kyoto. Our first destination is Arashiyama, a place of natural beauty and cultural significance. Here, we’ll visit Tenryu-ji, an esteemed Zen temple honored with the UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. The temple’s landscape garden is a masterpiece, with a central pond surrounded by rugged rocks, serene pine trees, and the lush Arashiyama mountains as a backdrop. Our journey continues through a dense bamboo grove, passing by quaint shrines, tea shops, and private residences, culminating in our arrival at the Togetsukyo Bridge, also known as the “Moon Crossing Bridge,” which gracefully spans the Hozu River. Next on our itinerary is the resplendent Kinkaku-ji, famously known as the Golden Pavilion. This temple is a beloved lakeside gem, featuring the Golden Pavilion suspended over the water on pillars, creating a mesmerizing reflection. After our explorations, we’ll return to our hotel, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s experiences.

Day 07/Jun 02, 2024/Kyoto to Osaka
Following a delicious breakfast, we embark on a day of cultural exploration and culinary delights as we journey from Kyoto to Osaka. Our first stop is the iconic Kiyomizu Temple, often called the Temple of Pure Water. This celebrated landmark is renowned for its majestic three-story pagoda, a grand wooden stage that provides a breathtaking panoramic view, and the three sacred springs flowing from the main hall’s base. After we visited Kiyomizu Temple, we immersed ourselves in the time-honored art of the Green Tea Ceremony. This elegant ritual of hospitality, once exclusively reserved for the social elite, becomes even more special as an elegant Maiko, an apprentice Geisha, hosts it. Following a satisfying lunch, we continued our journey to Osaka, a city known for its vibrant culture and delectable cuisine. Our first stop in Osaka is the colorful, neon-lit entertainment district of Dotonbori, often considered the heart of Osaka’s food culture. Osaka is famously called the city of “Kuidaore,” which means “to eat until you drop.” In Dotonbori, you’ll find a plethora of eateries beneath eye-catching billboards, including the renowned Glico “Running Man” sign. To conclude our day, we head to Shinsaibashi, Osaka’s largest shopping district. Originally established during the Edo period, this historic area has become a hub for modern retailers, featuring jewelers, chic boutiques, western clothing and footwear stores, and traditional kimono tailors.

Day 08/Jun 03, 2024/Nara Day Trip from Osaka
Today, we venture out from Osaka to explore Nara, the first capital of imperial Japan (710 – 794) and a historic cradle of Japanese civilization. Our morning begins with a visit to the enchanting Kasuga Shrine, a revered UNESCO site, and the adjacent Kasugayama Primeval Forest. These sites hold a special place in the hearts of the Japanese people and are steeped in rich cultural and historical significance. In the afternoon, we proceed to Todai-ji, a temple complex designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to the colossal bronze Buddha statue, one of Japan’s most iconic and awe-inspiring figures. Our journey takes us to Nara Park, a haven for history and nature enthusiasts. This park is home to hundreds of tame deer that roam freely. These deer are held in high regard and considered divine spirits. You’ll have the unique opportunity to feed them by hand and witness their tranquil presence. As the day unfolds, we return to Osaka, where you can reflect on the cultural and natural wonders you’ve encountered in Nara.

Day 09/Jun 04, 2024/Exploring Osaka
This morning, our journey takes us to the splendid Osaka Castle, a site of profound historical significance that played a pivotal role in the unification of Japan under the Tokugawa family (1603 – 1868). The afternoon offers you the freedom to explore at your own pace. You can engage in activities of your choice, such as discovering more of Osaka’s treasures, shopping, or simply savoring the city’s vibrant atmosphere. As evening falls, we gather for a special farewell dinner, celebrating the memories and experiences we’ve shared throughout our journey.

Day 10/Jun 05, 2024/Departure from Osaka
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and board your flight home.
Have a safe flight home, and we hope you carry cherished memories of your Japanese adventure.

Due to exchange rate changes, taxes, and other factors, we do not guarantee the amount of the final Tour Fee until the Full and Final Payment Date; prior to said date, we may increase the Tour price. Except as expressly stated in the Itinerary, you are solely responsible for any Tour-related costs you incur.

Change/Cancellation: Notice of change/cancellation must be made in writing to Advantage International, LLC, and your cancellation date will be the date we actually receive your notice:

A name change can be requested but not guaranteed; additional fees will apply. All changes are subject to availability and rate differences and are not guaranteed.

Cancellation:

  • $1500 per person is non-refundable.
  • 50% of the package price is non-refundable if canceled from February 16- April 7, 2024
  • 100% of the package price is non-refundable if canceled on or after April 8, 2024.
    • We must receive your cancellation notice in writing by email, fax, or overnight courier, and your cancellation date will be the date we receive your notice.
    • Your decision not to participate in the Tour due to State Department warnings, fear of travel, or the like will be deemed a cancellation. If a flight or another delay for any reason prevents you from joining the Tour on the Tour start date, you will be considered a no-show, and we cannot provide a full or partial refund or credit toward a future Tour, but you may join the Tour late if you wish.
