Day 1
Day 1: April 17: USA/Cairo
We start our journey with a convenient flight from Washington Dulles Airport via United Egypt Airlines. Your Egyptian Experience begins with our nonstop flight on EgyptAir, the National Airline of Egypt, which will welcome us and send us on our way in full Egyptian style.

Day 2
Day 2: Apr 18: Welcome to Cairo and visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (The Mummies Room)
Arrival in Cairo at 4:30 am; our representative will receive us with a warm
welcome to Cairo and assist us with a hassle-free arrival. Then we will
be transferred to the Hyatt Regency Cairo for check-in and a fresh breakfast. Free morning at leisure; this afternoon, visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, then return to the hotel. This evening, join us for a Welcome Meet & Greet reception cocktail party. Overnight in Cairo. (B)
Day 3
Day 3: Apr 19: Nile River Cruise (Early Morning Departure)
Your private modern A/C bus will transfer you to the airport for your domestic flight to Luxor, and then transfer you to your cruise ship. Embarkation, then lunch on board the ship; after lunch, visit Luxor Temple followed by Karnak Temple and the Avenue of Sphinxes, or the King’s Festivities Road. Then back to the cruise ship, dinner & overnight (L,D)
Day 4
Day 4 : Apr 20 – Visit Luxor West Bank
Disembark after breakfast on board the cruise. Then, we will be on the move to Luxor’s West Bank. You will visit the Valley of the Kings, where you will explore royal tombs. Afterward, you will visit Queen Hatshepsut Temple located beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari, on the Eastern side facing the Theban Mountain. Your next stop will be the great two statues, the Colossi of Memnon. Then back to the ship. (B.L.D)
Day 5
Day 5: April 21 Sail through the Nile to Kom Ombo
Breakfast on board, visit Philae Temple, then back to the cruise ship for lunch, and then sail to Kom Ombo, where you will visit the double sanctuary temple of Kom Ombo, which is picturesquely situated on the riverbank. Your Egyptologist will share with you the story behind that temple being dedicated to two Gods:
the crocodile representing God Sobek as well as the Falcon representing God Haroeris. Back to the cruise ship, and we sail to Edfu. (B,L,D)
Day 6
Dy 6 : April 22 The Nubian Village
Enjoy breakfast on the ship, then take our private ferry to visit the Nubian Village. Enjoy meeting the people, seeing their homes, schools, and sights. Then return to the ship for lunch and relax on deck, do some shopping, or enjoy the spa until dinner. (B.L.D)
Day 7
Day 7 : April 23 Flight to Cairo, Grand Egyptian Museum
After breakfast, disembark and fly to Cairo. We will visit the famous Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), then check in to our hotel. Tonight, enjoy a Home Hosted Dinner with an Egyptian Family. (B,D)
Day 8
Day 8: April 24 Giza Pyramids and Sphinx
After breakfast, you will be on the move in a modern, private, A/C bus to the Giza Plateau. A private Egyptologist will take you on a tour to visit the Great Pyramid area, where you will learn about the historic and architectural significance of the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Afterward, you will visit the Valley Temple and Great Sphinx, where you can pose to take unrivaled photos.
Afterward, transfer back to the hotel to refresh before our Farewell to Egypt Dinner. (B,L,D)
Day 9
Day 9: April 25 Free Day
After Breakfast, enjoy a free day- your last day in Egypt for optional tours and shopping. Pack up and settle your account tonight for our late-night departure early tomorrow. The EGYPT ONLY group flies home late tonight (B)
Day 10
Day 10 – April 26 – Arrival in South Africa
Early arrival and transfer to Sandton. Check into the Sandton Sun, our hotel, for the next 4 nights. Enjoy a Welcome Reception. Sandton is known for its affluence and is the most important business and financial district in South Africa; it is also great for shopping, dining, and nightlife. The Sandton Sun is connected to one of Africa’s top malls and entertainment areas. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome to South Africa reception. (B)
Day 11
Day 11: April 27 – Constitution Hill and the Apartheid Museum
After a buffet breakfast, we’ll depart for a tour of Constitution Hill and the Apartheid Museum. Lunch included.
No visit to South Africa is complete without a visit to the world-famous Apartheid Museum. The Apartheid Museum opened in 2001 and is acknowledged as the pre-eminent museum in the world dedicated to 20th-century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story.
This museum is a must-visit for one to understand what the real apartheid South Africa was like. It is a beacon of hope, showing the world how the country is coming to terms with its oppressive past and building on the future.
Constitution Hill is a human rights precinct and a world-class heritage tourist attraction incorporating cultural, historical, artistic, educational, and recreational spaces that celebrate South Africa’s ability to negotiate a peaceful, miraculous democracy out of bloody oppression. It is now the home of South Africa’s highest Court. Return to the hotel. Free Evening. (B,L)
Day 12
Day 12: April 28 – Soweto
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, meet in the lobby for a tour of Soweto, including a school and church visit (based on availability). Soweto is a township that emanated from Black people being forcefully resettled far away from the city of Johannesburg during the gold rush era.
On this tour, we drive past contrasting settlements while being told their history. Drive on Vilakazi Street, the most famous street in the whole world, which used to be home to two NOBEL Peace Prize Winners (Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu). Visit the home of Nelson Mandela, which is now a museum. Visit the site of the 1976 student uprising, the Hector Peterson Memorial. Sit for an African lunch at a local restaurant in Soweto. Later, return to the hotel. Free evening. (B,L)
Day 13
Day 13: April 29 – Enjoy a FREE DAY
Breakfast is included; then enjoy a Spa Day, do some optional touring, or shop at one of the largest malls in South Africa. (B)
Day 14
Day 14: April 30 – Lesedi and Pilanesberg National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and meet in the lobby; depart and visit Lesedi Cultural Village for a tour and lunch. Situated within the Cradle of Humankind, the World Heritage Site is home to the earliest traces of humanity. Lesedi is the living custodian of Africa’s history and its rich culture. This guided tour to the Lesedi Cultural Village offers the opportunity to experience the cultural traditions of several different peoples of Southern Africa.
After lunch, transfer to Pilanesberg National Park and The Ivory Tree Game Lodge, our home for the next two nights. Pilanesberg National Park is a malaria-free game park, located on the slopes of a 2-billion-year-old volcano, and is home to Africa’s Big Five. Check in and relax by the pool and enjoy dinner. Day 15
Day 15: May 1 – Game Drives
Start the day with a Sunrise Game Drive followed by a buffet breakfast. The game drive allows you to see all the animals and hopefully the “Big 5” that make South Africa their home. The game drives are done in “open” vehicles, so everyone has a perfect view.
Free time to relax and enjoy the Lodge’s amenities, then an afternoon game drive, followed by dinner. Settle your accounts and pack up your luggage as we depart early tomorrow. (B,D)
Day 16
Day 16: May 2 – Farewell South Africa
Enjoy breakfast before heading to the OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg and your overnight flight to Cairo. (B)
Day 17
Day 17: May 3 – Departure flight to the US
Arrival in Cairo, transfer to the Le Meridien Airport Hotel, Check-in, and enjoy breakfast. Have a free day at leisure, then transfer to Cairo Airport for your late-night/early-morning departure flight to the US. To Washington, flight #MS 981 at 12:20 am on May 4th, arrives IAD at 5:10 am.

What's Not Included in Your Package
- A Passport must be valid for 30 days after your planned exit from South Africa. Your passport must have 2 consecutive blank visa pages per entry, not including endorsement pages.

Payment Schedule: Failure to adhere to the payment schedule may result in late payment fees, cancellation without notice, and/or rate increases.
- 33% of the package price is due at the time of booking and is non-refundable
- An additional 33% of the package price is due by November 2, 2026
- Full and final payment February 12, 2027
All prices are in US Dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, taxes, and other factors, we do not guarantee the final Tour Fee until the Full and Final Payment Date; prior to that date, we may increase the Tour price. Except as expressly stated in the Itinerary, you are solely responsible for any Tour-related costs that you incur.
Change/Cancellation: Notice of change/cancellation must be made in writing to Advantage International, LLC, and your cancellation date will be the date we actually receive your notice:
A name change can be requested, cannot be guaranteed and additional fees will apply. All changes are subject to availability, rate differences and are not guaranteed.
Cancellation:
- 33% of the package price is non-refundable if canceled on or before November 1, 2026
- 66% of the package price is non-refundable if canceled November 2, 2027 – February 11, 2027
- 100% of the package price is non-refundable if canceled on or after February 12, 2027, or if you are a no-show.
- We must receive your cancellation notice in writing by email, fax, or overnight courier, and your cancellation date will be the date we receive your notice.
- Your decision not to participate in the Tour due to State Department warnings, fear of travel, or the like will be deemed a cancellation. If a flight or another delay, for any reason, prevents you from joining the Tour on the Tour start date, you will be considered a no-show, and we cannot provide a full or partial refund or credit toward a future Tour. However, you may join the Tour late if you wish.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included?
Package inclusions vary by trip and are spelled out on your invoice and/or itinerary. Most packages include air transportation, transfers, accommodations, tours, selected meals, and events.
What is not included?
Anything that is not mentioned on the invoice or itinerary is not included in the package. Standard items that are not included are as follows:
- Travelers insurance
- Passport fee processing
- Visa fee and processing, if required
- Items of a personal nature
- Gratuities, unless noted in inclusions
- Baggage handling above the set limits
- Airline baggage fees
- Individual ground transportation
- Meals and beverages not listed on the itinerary
Do I need any Vaccinations or Medications?
The requirement for any vaccinations or medications are based on the destination. See the What's Not Included in Your Package, section of the website for your trip for details. Always seek, and follow the advice of your individual medical professional for any medications and vaccinations.
How much money should I take?
While this is a personal choice and based on the destination, we recommend $50 to $100 per person, per day.
Are included tours mandatory? Or Is it mandatory to participate in all of the scheduled/included tours?
No, you do not have to tour with the group. The group package and itinerary are scheduled; however, if you do not want to participate in any land tour on any day, you may opt out. Any tours that you do not join are non-refundable and cannot be used as payment for or credit toward individual tours.
Can I extend my trip?
Yes, you can extend your trip. We will make a request on your behalf, and provide you a quote for the additional services will provided. All additional expenses are your responsibility.
If I do not have a roommate, will you provide one?
We have a “single willing to share” program for registered trip participants. Once you have registered as a single traveler with a deposit, we then put you in contact with other registered “single willing to share” trip participants so that you can explore the possibility of rooming together on the trip.
It’s up to you. If you choose to share a room with another registered trip participant, both of you must let us know.
Are gratuities included?
Gratuities for local tour guides and bus drivers are not included, unless specified on the itinerary. You may tip at your discretion.

Do you offer individual travel services?
Yes. If you would like for us to plan a trip for you, complete the “Plan A Trip” form.
What is the cancellation policy?
General Terms and Conditions are available here. Each group trip has its own payment schedule and cancellation policy. Please review the policy on the trips page. Please note funds cannot be applied to other trips and while name changes may be permitted, funds are non-transferable.
How much luggage can I take?
On our group tours, each person is allowed one carry-on bag and one checked bag. The baggage size and weight restrictions are set by the airline.
Once we arrive at a destination, we travel by motorcoach and your baggage must fit in the bus. In addition, we sometimes travel by domestic flights or train within a country and those carriers might have restrictions on baggage size or weight.
Do I need a passport?
All international trips require a passport. The validity of the passport will vary by destination. However, many destinations require a passport validity is 6 months beyond the date of departure from the country you are visiting.
