Hello Fellow World Travelers,

The Traveling Eye with Bonnie DeShong and Ja’Vonne Harley is live every Sunday 4-5pm Central time on the Talk of Chicago 1690 WVON and on line @ http://www.wvon.com/.

This Sunday, March 2, 2008 Ja’Vonne will be traveling with a group of 100 to Southern Africa including Johannesburg & Durban, South Africa, Chobe, Botswana and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Ja’Vonne will be live from Johannesburg, South Africa, her first stop. We will talk about Soweto, the heart of the stuggle during Apartheid and the home of Nelson Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Winnie Mandela and many other South African leaders .

They call it the City of Gold, Egoli, Jozi and Joburg – but for many of South Africa’s brightest stars the city of Johannesburg is simply HOME.

Soweto by night is also a great option. Why not look out for Sakhumzi restaurant in Vilakazi Street Orlando West. This famous street has made history by being the only street in the world that was home to two Nobel Peace Prize winners: Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. While in Soweto don’t forget to pay a visit to the world-famous Wandie’s restaurant or the Rock, the best shebeen in the country!

Tune in and journey with Ja’Vonne has she explores Southern Africa.
