Traveling With a group has many benefits like better pricing, more included items, group activities and meeting new people, however there are questions you should ask yourself before taking a group trip. One is, “Is Group Travel For Me? And the other is “Am I cut out for Group Travel? You may be thinking these two questions are the same but they’re not. Let me explain.
Addressing the former, Is Group Travel For Me?
Take a look at the benefits, pros and cons and makeup of the group and program. What’s the itinerary? What’s included? What group activities are included outside of sightseeing?
Addressing the latter, Am I cut out for group travel? is more introspective.
Do I follow rules easily? Am I a structured traveler or do I like to make it up as you go along? Do I get along with most people? Am I an introvert or extrovert?
These questions are important because group travel has a group culture and etiquette. There are rules and guidelines to follow for the ease and flow of the itinerary and for the enjoyment of everyone. Going against group culture and etiquette can diminish the quality of the group travel experience not just for yourself but for the entire group.
As always, happy travels!
