Arrival and transfer to Sandton. Check into the Sandton Sun, our hotel, for the next 4 nights. Enjoy a Welcome Reception. Sandton is known for its affluence and is the most important business and financial district in South Africa; it is also great for shopping, dining, and nightlife. The Sandton Sun is connected to one of Africa’s top malls and entertainment areas. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Reception.
20 March
After a buffet breakfast, we’ll depart for a tour of Constitution Hill and the Apartheid Museum.
No visit to South Africa is complete without a visit to the world-famous Apartheid Museum. The Apartheid Museum opened in 2001 and is acknowledged as the pre-eminent museum in the world dedicated to 20th-century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story.
This museum is a must-visit for one to understand what the real apartheid South Africa was like. It is a beacon of hope, showing the world how the country is coming to terms with its oppressive past and building on the future.
Constitution Hill is a human rights precinct and a world-class heritage tourist attraction incorporating cultural, historical, artistic, educational, and recreational spaces that celebrate South Africa’s ability to negotiate a peaceful, miraculous democracy out of bloody oppression. It is now the home of South Africa’s highest Court.

21 March
After a buffet breakfast, enjoy a free day to indulge in all that the Sandton Sun and Sandton have to offer. The Sandton Sun is connected to one of Africa’s top malls and entertainment areas for dining, nightlife, and shopping. The hotel offers a spa, pool, gym, and a concierge desk for unlimited activities. (B)
22 March
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, meet in the lobby for a tour of Soweto, including a school and church visit (based on availability). Soweto is a township that emanated from Black people being forcefully resettled far away from the city of Johannesburg during the gold rush era.
On this tour, we drive past contrasting settlements while being told their history. Drive on Vilakazi Street, the most famous street in the world, which used to be home to two NOBEL Peace Prize Winners (Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu). Visit the home of Nelson Mandela, which is now a museum. Visit the site of the 1976 student uprising, the Hector Peterson Memorial. Enjoy an African lunch at a local restaurant in Soweto. Later, return to the hotel to relax and pack. Tonight, settle your account for easy check-out tomorrow. (B,L)
23 March
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and meet in the lobby, depart and visit Lesedi Cultural Village for a tour and lunch. Situated within the Cradle of Humankind, the World Heritage Site home to the earliest traces of humanity, Lesedi is the living custodian of Africa’s history and its rich culture. This guided tour to the Lesedi Cultural Village offers the opportunity to experience the cultural traditions of several different peoples of Southern Africa.
After lunch, transfer to Kwa Maritane Lodge in the Pilanesberg National Resort, our home for the next two nights. Pilanesberg National Park, on the slopes of a 2-billion-year-old volcano, is home to Africa’s big five. Nearby, Sun City is a luxury resort and casino complex in the North West Province of South Africa. Check in and relax by the pool, and enjoy a welcome dinner.

24 March
Start the day with a Sunrise Game Drive followed by a buffet breakfast. Free time to relax and enjoy the lodge’s amenities, then an afternoon game drive, followed by dinner. Settle your accounts and pack up your luggage as we depart early tomorrow. (B,L,D)
25 March
Enjoy breakfast before heading to the OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg and your flight to Cape Town.
Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to the TAJ Hotel in Cape Town. Check in and proceed to your room and relax. The evening is free to allow you to explore the area and the nearby shopping downtown or at the V&A Waterfront (B)
26 March
After breakfast, depart for the Robben Island Ferry Terminal for a tour of Robben Island and the former prison that housed Nelson Mandela and other fighters against Apartheid. Your tour guide will be an actual former political prisoner. Afterward, we travel to one of the New Natural Wonders of the World, Table Mountain. Table Mountain is one of the most iconic landmarks in Africa, with a prominent view overlooking the city. Table Mountain sits 1,086 metres (3,563 ft) above sea level, and we will ascend to the top via the cable station and cable cars. Enjoy beautiful views of Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula, and the Atlantic Ocean.
Tonight, enjoy a dinner experience that captures many aspects of Africa at GOLD Restaurant. Then return to the hotel.

27 March
After breakfast at the hotel, depart on a Full-day Cape Peninsula Tour, including Chapman’s Peak Drive, Cape Point, and Boulders Penguin Colony in Simon’s Town. See the famous African Penguins and the Cape of Good Hope.
We’ll stop for a seafood lunch during our tour. Return to the hotel for a free evening. (B,L)

After breakfast, transfer to Constantia to visit the world-famous South African Winelands. We will enjoy a wine tasting and lunch. We will then return to the hotel, grab our luggage, and depart for our flights home. (B,L)

Payment Schedule: Failure to adhere to the payment schedule may result in late payment fees, cancellation without notice, and/or rate increases.

- An additional 33% of the package is due by November 13, 2026
- Full and final payment is due by February 1, 2027
All prices are in US Dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, taxes, and other factors, we do not guarantee the final Tour Fee until the Full and Final Payment Date; before that date, we may increase the Tour price. Except as expressly stated in the Itinerary, you are solely responsible for any “Tour-related” costs you incur.
Change/Cancellation: Notice of change/cancellation must be made in writing to Advantage International, LLC, and your cancellation date will be the date we receive your notice. We must receive your cancellation notice in writing by email, fax, or overnight courier, and your cancellation date will be the date we receive your notice. Your decision not to participate in the Tour due to State Department warnings, fear of travel, or the like will be deemed a cancellation. If a flight or another delay for any reason prevents you from joining the Tour on the Tour start date, you will be considered a no-show, and we cannot provide a full or partial refund or credit toward a future Tour, but you may join the Tour late with advance notice if you wish.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included?
Package inclusions vary by trip and are spelled out on your invoice and/or itinerary. Most packages include air transportation, transfers, accommodations, tours, selected meals, and events.
What is not included?
Anything that is not mentioned on the invoice or itinerary is not included in the package. Standard items that are not included are as follows:
- Travelers insurance
- Passport fee processing
- Visa fee and processing, if required
- Items of a personal nature
- Gratuities, unless noted in inclusions
- Baggage handling above the set limits
- Airline baggage fees
- Individual ground transportation
- Meals and beverages not listed on the itinerary
Do I need any Vaccinations or Medications?
The requirement for any vaccinations or medications are based on the destination. See the What's Not Included in Your Package, section of the website for your trip for details. Always seek, and follow the advice of your individual medical professional for any medications and vaccinations.
How much money should I take?
While this is a personal choice and based on the destination, we recommend $50 to $100 per person, per day.
Are included tours mandatory? Or Is it mandatory to participate in all of the scheduled/included tours?
No, you do not have to tour with the group. The group package and itinerary are scheduled; however, if you do not want to participate in any land tour on any day, you may opt out. Any tours that you do not join are non-refundable and cannot be used as payment for or credit toward individual tours.
Can I extend my trip?
Yes, you can extend your trip. We will make a request on your behalf, and provide you a quote for the additional services will provided. All additional expenses are your responsibility.
If I do not have a roommate, will you provide one?
We have a “single willing to share” program for registered trip participants. Once you have registered as a single traveler with a deposit, we then put you in contact with other registered “single willing to share” trip participants so that you can explore the possibility of rooming together on the trip.
It’s up to you. If you choose to share a room with another registered trip participant, both of you must let us know.
Are gratuities included?
Gratuities for local tour guides and bus drivers are not included, unless specified on the itinerary. You may tip at your discretion.

What is the cancellation policy?
General Terms and Conditions are available here. Each group trip has its own payment schedule and cancellation policy. Please review the policy on the trips page. Please note funds cannot be applied to other trips and while name changes may be permitted, funds are non-transferable.
How much luggage can I take?
On our group tours, each person is allowed one carry-on bag and one checked bag. The baggage size and weight restrictions are set by the airline.
Once we arrive at a destination, we travel by motorcoach and your baggage must fit in the bus. In addition, we sometimes travel by domestic flights or train within a country and those carriers might have restrictions on baggage size or weight.
Do I need a passport?
All international trips require a passport. The validity of the passport will vary by destination. However, many destinations require a passport validity is 6 months beyond the date of departure from the country you are visiting.
